WORK VS PRIVATE
Describe your average work day:
After I have taken our daughter to school, I walk home. I make a sandwich and tea before I start my work day. First I open my e-mail and look at my calendar to see which appointments I have. My calendar also includes my to do list. So often I already know how my day looks like. Tuesdays and Thursdays are often packed with meetings. Which means I can actually get work done, on Mondays and Wednesdays.
In the afternoon I sometimes run errands when we need something, otherwise I have lunch with my husband. Every now and then, when our work calendars allows us, we take a walk in our neighbourhood.
At the end of the working day, I pick up our daughter from day-care. Then we have a walk again and I can empty my head.
Describe your average day off:
Friday morning is my morning off and I have me-time. Doing what feels good and nothing mandatory. If I want to sit on the couch and watch a movie, I will. I can really enjoy that. That also relaxes me.
During the weekend we try to do something fun as a family. Because of Corona we hardly go out, so we stick to playgrounds, game afternoons or we bake something.
What makes you really happy?
My family, relatives and friends. I am grateful for the people around me who give me energy. In addition, I like doing wat feels good in the moment. For example, I quite enjoy spending time at home. So, put me on the couch with a blanket and a nice movie. Then I am happy.
What irritates you the most?
People who remain in a negative vibe and cannot let go.
Who inspires you and why?
I find this a difficult question. I don’t specifically have one or more persons who inspire me. What always inspires me are people who follow their heart, can let go of everything and, for example, go abroad to start their business and really go for it. To me that is interesting and might want to do so one day.
What is your favourite place in the world?
Maybe cliché, but when my family is with me, that’s my favorite place. It would be even more perfect if we are all together at Curacao. I’ve been there twice and I think it’s such a nice place. I can really enjoy and relax there.
What is vitality to you?
Feeling good about yourself and having enough energy for the whole day.
How do you take care of your own vitality?
Every morning we try to start with fresh ginger tea with a lemon and some honey. That gets me going.
Last year I had a period where I went to the gym 3 times a week and participated in 45-minute workouts with dumbbells, balls, steps or a barbell. Then came the Corona measures. For a while I followed online classes at home twice a week, but after that my motivation was hard to find. A pity, because after exercise I feel recharged. I really have to pick this up again. I also don’t drink or smoke, I think that helps enormously.
